The Saga of the Flying Hot Tubs!
Our circa 1981 hot tub (spa) decided to give up the ghost just around Thanksgiving 2006. Buying a spa presented us a new life experience. What is worst, a used car salesman or a hot tub dealer? Hard to tell. We bought from someone whom we felt wasn't giving us too much BS. Removing a hot tub and installing a new one either required a complete new deck (HOA Architectural Committee horrors and delays) or hiring a crane (a less expensive but very scary. Then there is the surprising hyperthermia issue: US CPSC limits spa temperatures to a tepid 104 degrees Fahrenheit. We like it around 107 degrees Fahrenheit. The old spa had no such limits and could have cooked us had we not installed a digital thermometer with remote readout.
This is a picture album of the saga of our Flying Hot Tubs, installed before the first snow, before Christmas 2006.
